From December 20, 2024, Nha Trang city will apply regulations prohibiting passenger cars with more than 29 seats from entering the city center during two rush hours:
• Morning: 6:30 to 7:30
• Afternoon: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The scope of application includes routes from the east of Le Hong Phong Street to Tran Phu Street, and from the south of Cai River to the north of Binh Tan Bridge.
Impact on travel companies
This regulation has a significant impact on picking up and dropping off tourists by large vehicles, especially for tours using vehicles with more than 29 seats. Pick-up points in the center or near the port area (such as to go to Vinpearl, Hon Tam or Nha Trang Island Tour) need to be adjusted to ensure a reasonable schedule.
Specifically with Hon Tam tour
The Hon Tam Tour usually ends around 4:20 p.m., quite close to the start of the curfew (4:30 p.m.). This can make it difficult for large vehicles to return to the center to drop off passengers.
Solutions for travel agencies
1. Adjust the vehicle: Replace large vehicles with smaller vehicles (under 29 seats) or arrange shuttle buses at locations near the center for more flexibility.
2. Schedule changes: Consider moving the tour end time earlier, for example, guests can return to the mainland around 4pm to get there before the curfew.
3. Early notice to customers: Clearly explain regulations and changes so that visitors can understand and coordinate better in their schedules.
